Role Purpose:

  • Provide expert (level 2 /level 3) technical support to clients, partners and colleagues. This person will be curious. They will quickly acquire and maintain a strong understanding of the end-to-end EFTEX Payments System, Capabilities and Services being delivered/ capable of being delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling of support issues and problems raised or identified from identification through to  remediation/ resolution
  • Implementation of existing client requests, e.g. transaction host configurations, new/ changed reporting, surcharge fee profiles
  • Onboarding of new clients (ATM Deployers, Payment Facilitators, Merchant Service providers and Payment Gateway providers, including but not limited to:
    • Maintaining and sharing Payments System host to host integration specs
    • Issuance of security credentials for interchange links, SFTP folders
    • Client setup activities
    • Merchant Boarding File template maintenance, receipt and processing for clients
    • Transactional, Clearing and Settlement Reporting
    • Supporting Clients Onboarding/ Integration/ Terminal Certifications/ User Acceptance Testing
    • Assessing/ Ensuring/ Confirming end to end Payments System readiness for clients to move into Production
    • Troubleshooting and remediating Payments System and Services issues or errors; and
    • Scoping/ drafting technical requirements for development
    • Assist with EFTEX Payments System maintenance, development scoping, and compliance activities associated with Card Scheme releases and mandates
    • Identify, analyse, implement Payments System and Services’ process improvements
    • Assist in planning, testing, implementing, monitoring and successful delivery of EFTEX Payments System maintenance activities, hot fixes, new releases, system upgrades and enhancements.
    • Escalation point as needed for after-hours support services for P1/ P2 production issues in line with business and client needs.
    • Awareness of regulatory compliance standards such as PCI DSS and PCI PIN and associated EFTEX obligations, policies and processes.
    • Understand and comply with all relevant company and industry standards.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Solid practitioner experience with:
    • developing, managing and maintaining EFT payment processing systems (ATM, POS, CNP) and associated Payment Systems infrastructure (e.g. Postilion/ Connex/ Base 24/ BP Node).
    • ISO 8583, AS2805 or ISO 20022 messaging protocols.
    • PCI DSS and PCI PIN standards
    • Bash / Python scripting
    • SQL scripting,
    • Database administration
    • Running mission critical systems (OLTPs, Monitoring)
    • Networking protocols (TCP/IP)
    • Linux operating systems (RHEL)
    • Technical documentation writing
  • Understanding of Domestic and International Card Schemes (e.g. eftpos, Visa, Mastercard, AMEX) transaction processing, clearing and settlement processes, operations and compliance requirements
  • Highly effective listening skills
